MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A man who was already in court for a hearing received additional charges on Wednesday when he attempted to attack the judge.
A video posted to social media by the Martin County Sheriff's Office showed Evan Paul McCullough, 46, as he was led into court for his hearing shortly before chaos unfolded.
McCullough can be seen approaching the podium before knocking it over and lunging towards the residing judge, Judge Roby, in an attempt to attack him. He then spits in the judge's direction.
Deputies in the courtroom immediately intervened, tackling McCullough to the ground before he could make contact with the judge.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office has charged McCullough with corruption by threat and battery on a judge.
