SEATTLE — Despite last-minute efforts by Seattle lawmakers to save the Fred Meyer in the Lake City neighborhood, owner Kroger just shut down those hopes.
In a letter emailed Tuesday to state Rep. Gerry Pollet, Fred Meyer President Todd Kammeyer confirmed that the announced store closures will proceed as planned.”
After Kroger said last month it would close Fred Meyer stores in Lake City, Redmond, Kent and Everett in mid-October, Pollet and other local lawmakers asked Kroger to delay the closures so local governments could address Kroger’s concerns about theft.
