WOODSTOCK — Shenandoah Downs will open its 10th season of pari-mutual harness racing Saturday at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock.
Operations manager Darrell Wood said he is looking forward to another successful season filled with harness racing every weekend, plus lots of other fun events and promotions for fans of all ages. The season ends Oct. 26.
“One of the hot highlights is it's our 10th year of racing,” he said, while sitting in the grandstands Tuesday. “We did some celebrating in the first part of the year during our spring season. To still be here after 10 years, it’s neat and exciting.”
A new development at the fairgrounds that Wood is eager to bring attention to is the brand-new $2 million multi-use barn, a 32,500 square foot facility with 165 stalls.
