Southern University is currently under lockdown after receiving a potential threat to campus safety, according to an announcement from the university.
The college has advised all students on Baton Rouge campuses — including the Law Center, Agricultural Research and Extension Center and Laboratory School — to shelter in place until further notice.
No additional details were immediately available.
"If you see anything suspicious, please call 911. If you are not already on the landmass, do not travel to the landmass," said Janene Tate, Southern University communications director, in an email.
The announcement comes after threats forced three other historically black colleges to shut down their campuses Thursday morning.
