One day after conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at an appearance at Utah Valley University, Sen. Mike Lee has introduced a Senate resolution condemning the attack.
The Republican senator wrote on social media that he introduced the resolution to commemorate Kirk’s “outstanding patriotism and achievements.”
“I look forward to the Senate uniting to honor Charlie, his family, and his courageous legacy,” Lee added.
The resolution was officially released Thursday morning.
Kirk, it reads , was “horrifically assassinated,” and describes Kirk as a “devoted husband, father, and Christian,” as well as the founder of the conservative campus advocacy group Turning Point USA.
