The new series of Porterville College Cultural and Historical Awareness Program, CHAP, lectures are dedicated to PC Professor emeritus Richard Osborne, who passed away in April, said Leslie Keele, PC History Professor, when she thanked everyone for attending the first CHAP lecture of the “Don’t Stop Believing” series on Tuesday.

Distraction takes a toll on our everyday lives and the ability to concentrate affects everyone. Thinking about the monks of the early Middle Ages from 300 to 800 A.D. Professor Jamie Kreiner gave a CHAP talk called Battles of the Brain discussing and explaining how early Christian Monks, both male and female tried to narrow down distractions so they could concentrate on their devotions to God.
