Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday, NFL Network reported.
It’s a positive sign for the Bucs as he takes the next step in his return from a devastating ankle injury last season.
Reports last week indicated that Godwin is targeting a Week 5 return to the lineup, an Oct. 5 contest at Seattle.
Godwin, 29, was activated from the physically unable to perform list on Aug. 21.
He is recovering from a fractured ankle sustained in a Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last season. He wrapped up 2024 with 50 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns and signed a three-year, $66 million contract during the offseason to return to Tampa Bay.
