HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 will take part in a multi-state initiative aimed at reducing crime and keeping illegal firearms out of local communities.
Troopers say from September 11 through 14, they will join law enforcement partners in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia for the 6-State Trooper Project. This high-visibility enforcement period will concentrate on criminal patrol operations, specifically focusing on identifying felons in possession of firearms. Troopers will use traffic enforcement as an opportunity to detect and disrupt illegal activity, while also ensuring compliance with state and federal laws that prohibit certain individuals from carrying firearms.
