LIVINGSTON, La. (WAFB) - An Albany man is awaiting sentencing after being convicted in a case involving the sexual abuse of a child at daycare.

Twenty-first Judicial District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux’s office announced Judge Erika Sledge found Joshua Prine, 43, of Albany, guilty on Wednesday, Aug. 6. He was convicted of sexual battery of a juvenile where the victim is under the age of 13.

According to the district attorney’s office, the charges stem from a 2023 investigation where allegations of abuse at an unlicensed in-home daycare were reported to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Prine’s ex-wife and the victim, now an adolescent, reportedly both testified during the two-day bench trial.
