Nine neighborhood parks could be built or enhanced by a single contractor under a proposal to be considered by Kelowna city councillors Monday.

The so-called ‘Urban Parks Bundle’ project would provide efficiencies in neighborhood consultation, design, procurement, construction and utility work, and deliver the park projects faster than would otherwise be the case, city staff say.

The recommendation for council’s consideration is to approve the approach so the timing of the projects in the 10-year-capital plan can be adjusted.

Sites being considered for new or enhanced parks are: Aurora Park, Rutland Lions, Barlee Park, Casorso Park, Martin Avenue Park, Mary Collinson Park, Dayton Park, and Wilson Avenue Park. They are scattered throughout Kelowna.
