The man involved in a 2023 confrontation with Grand Junction police officers that was shown in a viral YouTube video earlier this year has sued the department in federal court.

The suit, filed last week, alleges GJPD violated Bradley Conley’s rights to freedom of speech and freedom from malicious prosecution.

In the video, which was posted by the channel “Audit the Audit” and is titled “This Female Cop Messed Up BIG TIME! Massive Lawsuit Incoming!” Conley is confronted by GJPD officers while in a pickup truck in the parking lot of the Monument Village Shopping Center in the Redlands.

The video has received more than 2.2 million views on YouTube.

Conley was working at the Dollar Tree/Family Dollar store and had authorization to be on the property after hours, according to the video. He
