A unique opportunity awaits as English Heritage launches a competition for a chance to win a stay in one of its historic holiday cottages. Participants can envision waking up in a medieval tower, wandering through the gardens of a ruined mansion, or breathing in the fresh sea air from a cottage on the picturesque Cornish coast. Each cottage offers a blend of character and comfort, providing a glimpse into the rich history of the locations.
Winners will enjoy exclusive out-of-hours access to historic grounds, complimentary entry to English Heritage sites nationwide, a welcome hamper upon arrival, and a 10% discount in shops, cafés, and tearooms during their stay. To enter, individuals must complete the online entry form before the competition closes on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The winner will be randomly selected from all entries received after the closing date. They will be notified via email within seven days and must claim their prize within a week of notification. The prize includes a three-night weekend stay (Friday to Monday) or a four-night mid-week stay (Monday to Friday) between November 3, 2025, and March 31, 2026, excluding the Christmas and New Year period from December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026.
The maximum number of guests allowed will depend on the number of bedrooms in the chosen cottage. Bookings are subject to availability, and the stay must be completed by March 31, 2026. Travel costs to and from the cottage are not included in the prize, and no cash alternative will be offered.
Entrants must be at least 18 years old, and only one entry per person is permitted. The competition is open exclusively to UK residents. English Heritage, the promoter of this prize draw, is based at The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH.
