Lanes were closed on part of the 101 Freeway in Hollywood Thursday for emergency repairs due to a large crack in the road.

The pavement damage, which might have been caused by an earlier crash, was in the No. 3 lane of the northbound side of the freeway near Western Avenue. Caltrans crews were at the location late Thursday morning for work that required the closure of two northbound lanes.
