Eugeneans celebrated the opening of Portal at the River District, located at 355 E. Fifth Ave., on Sept. 9 with live music, complex tours and train horns sounding in unison with cheers from the crowd.

The opening of Portal marks a new milestone in the development of Eugene’s Downtown Riverfront , following the 2024 opening of Heartwood apartments , which earmarked the start of a long road to develop housing in the area.
