(The Hill) -- A Southwest Airlines flight departing Hollywood Burbank Airport suffered engine failure and safely diverted to Los Angeles International Airport, an airline spokesperson told The Hill.
Flight 1394 was en route to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport before the crew reported the engine issue. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told The Hill that the plane landed at LAX on Thursday around 8:15 a.m. local time.
“Following the uneventful landing, the aircraft taxied to a gate at LAX, where we accommodated our Customers on the next flight to Phoenix,” the spokesperson said. “We appreciate the professionalism of our Pilots and Flight Attendants in safely handling the situation.”
The FAA will investigate the incident, according to its statement.
