A "precautionary lockdown" at Barbe High School was been lifted after no threat was found, the Calcasieu Parish School Board announced Thursday.
The school went into lockdown after an anonymous tip was received that an armed student was on campus, according to a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Facebook post. "CPSO deputies have completed a thorough search of Barbe High School and no threat was found," the Facebook post reads. "The school has been cleared and deemed safe." The lockdown was lifted at 1:19 p.m. and had been issued at least an hour prior. A message to parents and guardians from the Calcasieu Parish School Board states that normal activities have been resumed "All students, faculty and staff are safe and remained safe for the duration of the lockdown,"
