A Toronto hospital was just recognized as the best in its field, beating out some of the top medical facilities worldwide.

Among Newsweek and Statista’s newly released lists of the best specialized hospitals across the globe in various categories for 2026, T.O.’s own Hospital for Sick Children (a.k.a. SickKids) took the very top spot for pediatrics, coming above a whopping 249 other centres of its kind.

Other Toronto hospitals with notably high placements within the top 25 were Sunnybrook (ninth in obstetrics & gynecology, 25th in urology) and The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (ninth in oncology).
