Syracuse, N.Y. -- Like they have for more than two dozen years, uniformed city police officers and firefighters gathered to remember the nearly 3,000 people who died in the Sept. 11 attacks.
They gathered in Forman Park near downtown Syracuse. They prayed and lit candles. They stood silently for 17 minutes to mark the time between 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m., the two moments when commercial planes crashed into each of the Twin Towers.
