Gathering scheduled near Wells Hall where Kirk spoke in April

Fans of the conservative influencer describe his death as a gut punch.

The vigil will include a moment of silence for Kirk.

Students at Michigan State University plan to hold a vigil Thursday, Sept. 11, to remember Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was shot dead Wednesday while speaking on a college campus in Utah.

"We heard the news yesterday ... and we just knew there had to be something done," said Aleks Evans, president of Michigan State College Republicans. "Charlie Kirk has done so much for our movement."
