Nigeria footballer Abu Azeez has raised a staunch defence of former Rangers star Cyriel Dessers after the striker was slammed for his display in a 1-1 draw with South Africa that has left their World Cup qualification hopes hanging by a thread. ‌

Dessers quit Ibrox last month after three season with Gers to join Greek giants Panathinaikos, and was included from the start in the crunch qualifier on Tuesday with talisman forward Victor Osimhen unavailable. ‌
