The Baltimore County Council has just weeks to approve changes to redistricting maps, and councilmembers are still at odds over how they should be drawn.
The Baltimore County Council is expanding from seven seats to nine, no matter what. However, how that looks on a map is yet to be determined.
The County Council is still drawing the lines and took up version 4.0 of the map Tuesday evening. The proposal was introduced by Councilman Izzy Patoka, D-District 2, who called the map an improvement on prior versions.

“It’s an absolute improvement. Plurality,” Patoka said.
The map needs five “yes” votes to pass, and Patoka said he has them. The vote should happen on Monday.
