What started as a neighbourly dispute ended with one of those neighbours "tunnelling" into the unit of the other, according to Calgary police.

Police say a woman had been having ongoing issues with the neighbour living directly below her unit on the 6400 block of Coach Hill Road S.W.

She came home after being away to discover her door was still locked, but there was now a large hole in her floor.

It was reported to police as a break-and-enter on Sept. 5, 2025.

Police executed a search warrant and say the downstairs neighbour "tunnelled" a hole from his unit into hers through an open space behind a fireplace.

Police discovered a large hole in the wall next to a fireplace that they say the man used to tunnel into the woman's unit. (Calgary Police Service)
