Florida's education commissioner said he will be investigating "despicable" social media comments made by teachers about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
In a letter to school district superintendents Thursday, Florida Department of Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas said it was brought to his attention that some Florida educators have posed about the assassination of Kirk, who was shot and killed Wednesday at an event at a Utah college.
"These few are not a reflection of the great, high-quality teachers who make up the vast majority of Florida's educators," the letter read, in part. "Nevertheless, I will be conducting an investigation of every educator who engages in this vile, sanctionable behavior."
