On Aug. 17, 30-year-old Megan Wheatley stood at the summit of the tallest mountain in Africa — 5,895 metres — after an eight-day trek, and 12 years after a life-changing car accident that left her with a serious brain injury. Article content

Her journey to the peak raised $7,500 for Community Brain Injury Services at Providence Care, according to a media release from University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF), the charitable foundation that supports Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care.
