EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - City officials are addressing community concerns after unverified reports of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity circulated in Easthampton this week.

In a statement released Thursday, the city said it has not been able to independently confirm any ICE operations and that no official information has been provided.

“We understand that such reports can cause concern and want to reassure residents that the Easthampton Police Department does not collaborate with ICE in any capacity,” the statement said. “Local law enforcement is committed to serving and protecting all members of our community, regardless of immigration status.”
