Cathedral City Assistant City Manager Anne Ambrose will become interim city manager effective Sept. 20.
She will take over for the retiring Charles McClendon.
“Anne has demonstrated exceptional leadership and comprehensive knowledge of our city’s operations over the past two and a half years,” Mayor Nancy Ross said in a statement. “Her experience and familiarity with our programs and projects make her the ideal choice to ensure continuity of service during this transition period.”
Ambrose has worked for more than 25 years in local government and was involved in the recovery efforts from tropical storm Hilary and in implementing the city’s five-year strategic plan.
Her previous roles include interim city manager for California City in Kern County, director of public safety and community
