CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Massachusetts State Police conducted an operation to crack down on illegal street takeovers in Chicopee, Holyoke, and Springfield.
The State Police released information on Thursday that a two-day operation was conducted with troopers, the Hampden County Sheriff's Office, and officers from Chicopee, Holyoke, and Springfield, focusing on street racing and motor vehicle enforcement.
Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh told 22News that the operation was conducted after law enforcement became aware of several social media posts about car meets over the Labor Day weekend.
