A 5-year-old girl died Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on White Hill Road in Screven County, according to the Screven County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened around 6:25 a.m. when Screven 911 received the initial report. Emergency responders arrived at the scene within four minutes and found the child, who was then rushed to the Emergency Room at Optim Medical Center in Sylvania.

Despite medical efforts, the girl was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigation Ongoing
