BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Cadets from Bangor High School JROTC joined their community for an annual remembrance ceremony at the Waterfront Thursday morning.

On a blue-skied day reminiscent of the same morning 24 years prior, the Ram Battalion hosted its Sept. 11 memorial event.

“To be able to be part of something that can have future generations remember that day and honor the lives lost is a big honor,” said C/LTC Alexis Blue, Bangor High School JROTC.

Bangor High started school on Sept. 2, which means the Ram Battalion put this event together in just nine days. But leaders say it was important for them to do it and do it right.

“We did we everything we could to make sure this day was perfect,” Blue said.
