THE San Francisco 49ers are in search of a new quarterback.

With Brock Purdy a "long shot" to play on Sunday, the team is looking for additional options for their quarterback room.

Purdy is dealing with shoulder and toe injuries, and could end up sidelined for multiple weeks.

Because of that, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is looking to add a new passer.

"We’d love to have three guys in the building ready to go," Shanahan told reporters.

"We’ve got some roster issues where we just can’t bring one in right away."

The 49ers worked out former New York Jets and Miami Dolphins quarterback Mike White on Wednesday, according to NFL.com.

However, the team hasn't signed anyone yet, leaving them with just two quarterbacks on the roster without Purdy.
