A family has dropped a lawsuit against Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and two other entities in which they alleged they were shortchanged for the cost of a charter flight when a member of their family died on a vacation trip to Indonesia.
The plaintiffs in the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit are Deborah Klein, sister of the late Joseph Klein, and Joseph Klein’s widow, Wendy Klein. The co-defendants with Nationwide are World Nomads Inc., which sold the Kleins the policy, and claims administrator Trip Mate Inc.
The family’s attorneys filed court papers on Aug. 26 with Judge Jon R. Takasugi asking that the case be dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning it cannot be refiled. The court papers do not state if the case was settled or if the family is not pursuing it for other reasons.
