In the market for an electric vehicle? Better move fast or risk losing out on some of the best deals for years to come, as the federal $7,500 EV incentive is about to disappear.
The Inflation Reduction Act, signed by President Joe Biden in 2022, expanded the $7,500 federal incentive for electric vehicle purchases and leases, but the "big, beautiful bill" passed by Republicans this summer pulled the plug. The credit will now phase out entirely after Sept. 30. To take advantage of the free money, car buyers must generally take delivery of their vehicle by the end of this month. Latest Forecast
