LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - September happens to be National Suicide Prevention month and the Laredo ISD Board had the chance to be presented on the districts partnership with Serving Children & Adults in Need (SCAN).

SCAN was originally formed in 1982 as Stop Child Abuse and Neglect. The program is a community based, nonprofit social services organization with a history of providing a variety of comprehensive and culturally sensitive prevention, intervention, and treatment services.

SCAN also has multiple programs providing services in 16 South Texas counties, Webb being one of them. The program has been collaborating with the Laredo Independent School District in an ongoing manner to provide services to students since 1996.
