HARRISBURG — Advocates and providers for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault rallied in the Pennsylvania State Capitol this week to demand that state legislators adopt a budget and immediately disburse critical funding to avert service cuts and program closures.
Pennsylvania’s budget stalemate has deepened into the third month since lawmakers again missed the annual June 30 deadline to enact a budget. It’s the fourth consecutive year and the 17th of the last 27 years that a state budget is late.
