MAIZE, Kan. (KSNW) - Two students were arrested on Thursday after a gun was found at Maize High School.
According to USD 266, multiple students reported a possible firearm at the school. Administrators and Maize police officers located the gun in a backpack and confiscated it. No injuries were reported.
Two students were arrested in connection with the incident. Three students were involved, but only two were transported to jail. The third was released to a parent/guardian.
"We appreciate the quick action of those involved," the school district said in an email to the community. "We appreciate our community’s diligence and dedication to safety and using the resources available to report suspicious activity."
