BANGOR -- The Penobscot Christian Eagles hosted the Bangor Christian Patriots on Thursday afternoon.
Up 1-0 in the early stages of the first half, BCS earned a corner kick and centered the ball in front of the net, where Eagles Maddie Thoms made an incredible save near the post. But it was the Patriots who played the rebound well, and junior Laraine Remington placed the ball into the back of the goal to give Bangor Christian a 2-0 lead.
On the next Patriots possession, Thoms once again made an impressive save in front of the net. But after a centerfield clear from the Eagles, BCS senior Mary Allen intercepted a pass and took a long distance shot, striking the back nylon to increase the Patriots lead.
