Fanshawe College officials have spent months navigating the fallout of new limits on international students – the London-based school facing a bigger toll than most – with program reductions and staff cuts.

They’re now expressing confidence the changes will chart a financially healthy path while maintaining its education standards. Student and union leaders, however, aren’t so sure yet.

Fanshawe was home to the third-largest population of international students in Canada – after Kitchener’s Conestoga College and University Canada West in Vancouver – which was a massive source of revenue, with foreign students paying three to five times the tuition of a Canadian one.
