FREMONT, NEB. — The University of Jamestown women’s hockey team was unable to break through in a 6-0 loss to Midland University (Nebraska) on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Warriors’ Sidner Ice Arena.

The Warriors (1-0) opened the scoring on a power play goal from Callie Maquire midway through the opening period before they added another one at the 17:15 mark of the period. The hosts added two more in the second to head into the third period up 4-0.

In the final frame, the Warriors were able to find the net twice to get the six-goal win.

In net, the Jimmies’ (0-1) Lilah Drew made the start saving 44 of the 50 shots she faced before she was relieved by Madelynn Sylvestre who saved all three shots she faced in her first collegiate start. On the other side, the Warriors’ Meghan Stewart saved a
