The Fontana Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Friday, Sept. 12, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. at an undisclosed location within city limits.

Checkpoint locations are chosen based on data related to impaired driving crashes. The primary goal is to promote public safety by removing suspected impaired drivers from the road.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Sgt. Kurt Schlotterbeck said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”
