Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson looks down field before everyone lines up during first half action against the Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Sept. 7, 2025.

A Buffalo Bills fan slapped the helmet of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson during Sunday night's primetime game in Buffalo. The NFL has decided not to punish Lamar Jackson for his retaliation against the fan after pushing the fan who slapped the helmets of both Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins while the Ravens were celebrating a touchdown in the end zone Sunday night.

Although some form of punishment was expected across the league, officials have stated that they did not think that it would be too severe anyway. The fan has been banned from all NFL stadiums. Jackson would acknowledge the situation and issue an apology to the fan by saying that if the problem were ever to happen again, he would handle it differently next time.

Jackson would also offer a bit of advice to the Bills fans, stating, "Just chill next time. You can trash-talk and stuff, but keep your hands to yourself."

Baltimore would lose a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter of the game against the Bills, and went on to lose 41-40 thanks to a last-second field goal by newly signed kicker Matt Prater. Next up, the Ravens will match up against division rival the Cleveland Browns.
