CLINTON, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Museum of Appalachia invites people to observe Southern Appalachian traditions during annual Fall Heritage Days starting in October.

Interactive activities from crosscut sawing, spelling bees, candle dipping and classic games aim to offer engaging ways to learn about the daily lives of early settlers, according to the museum.

Guests can watch demonstrations like corn shucking, basket-weaving, butter-churning and more. The event will also feature blacksmiths and woodworkers showcasing their craft as well as local musicians and food trucks.

Other highlights include storytelling, folklore and colonial history presentations, old-fashioned schoolhouse lessons, Appalachian music, circle dancing, shape-note singing and animal encounters.
