MONROE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A vice principal at Mountain View Elementary Middle School was arrested last Friday morning after allegedly being caught drinking alcohol on school property during work hours.
According to police, school staff reported smelling alcohol on Vice Principal Eric Hambrick around 10 a.m. When first questioned, Hambrick claimed the odor was from mouthwash. However, surveillance footage later showed him pouring a drink from a refrigerator and hiding the cup.
When confronted, Hambrick initially refused a breath test but later admitted he had been drinking. After being observed for 15 minutes, he blew a 0.086 on a preliminary breath test. He reportedly told the superintendent and principal that he had been “self-medicating” with alcohol since his divorce.
