ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - One day after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated in Utah , U.S. Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock took to the Senate floor to condemn political violence.
“Let me be clear: there is nothing more anti-democratic than political violence,” Sen. Rev. Warnock said. “What happened on yesterday was wrong. Whatever the motivation. This we know: it was wrong. And we have to say that clearly and without hesitation.”
Sen. Rev. Warnock took note of the fact that Kirk was killed on a college campus. He called college campuses places “that [are] set up for the exchange of ideas.”

Kirk’s death is part of a broader trend of political violence. There were two assassination attempts against President Donald Trump last year
