CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — City leaders and observers gathered today for a day of remembrance.
The event was held at the Hamilton County Justice Building and was organized by the Scenic City Women’s Network.
Many gathered to remember and reflect on September 11th, 2001.
Those in attendance included Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly, Retired Army Brigadier General Bill Raines, and Scenic City Women’s Network Executive Director, Renee Nail.
Air Force Brigadier General (ret.) Kevin Hyde said during his speech, “Today we gather to keep faith with the 2,753 people killed in New York, 184 people killed in the pentagon, and 40 people killed on flight 93.”
Prayers, stories, and memories were shared.
