Just three weeks after being demoted to the Boston Red Sox’s bullpen and subsequently released by the team, Walker Buehler will be making his debut with the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday.

The 31-year-old is listed as the team’s starting pitcher for Friday’s series opener against the Kansas City Royals.

Buehler signed a one-year, $21.05 million contract with the Red Sox in December but struggled through the first five months of the season.

The two-time All-Star went 7-7 with a 5.45 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a rough 84 to 55 strikeout to walk ratio across 112 1/3 innings covering 23 games (22 starts) while with Boston.

Buehler signed with the Phillies on Aug. 31 and has spent September with Triple-A Lehigh Valley thus far.
