NORMAN — Brent Venables is taking a page out of Nick Saban’s book.

The OU football coach didn’t utter the words “rat poison,” but he delivered a similar message to his team this week.

He felt the need to bring up the 2023 season in the locker room immediately following the Sooners’ win over Michigan. That season, OU defeated Texas, only to lose to Kansas and Oklahoma State to close the season.
