Rian Finley’s Colorado career hasn’t been marked by immediate dividends.

A fourth-year player with the CU volleyball team, Finley has quietly waited her turn for years. Yet her time has arrived for the Buffaloes, and Finley has impressed early in her new role as CU’s starting setter as the Buffs bring a perfect 6-0 mark into the first homestand of the season.

Finley and the Buffs begin play as hosts of the Buffs Invitational on Friday against Arkansas (6 p.m., ESPN+). The tournament continues against Toledo on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN+) and then Sunday against Denver (2 p.m., ESPN+).
