Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is not completely closing the door at a potential playing comeback in the NFL . Recently, Carr went on the "Dan Patrick Show," and opened up about his current mindset with the game of football.

"I wouldn't say never," Carr said to Patrick. "I've learned that when I say never, it usually happens. I think we've all probably learned that. For me, I'm training because I love to train. That's going to be the rest of my life. I love to train."

Carr said he still throws a football around "for fun" with his kids or his friends while he's still recovering from his shoulder injury.

"I always felt like, even though I'm done, you know, if God wanted me to do it, I've got to be ready," Carr said. "I don't want to go out there and not be ready."
