Four and a half decades on, Brockville continues to keep Terry’s dream alive.

The local edition of the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope will run on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Thousand Islands Secondary School track.

Registration starts at noon with the run beginning at 1 p.m.

Brockville has honoured Terry Fox with a run every year since 1981.

The 45th Terry Fox Run is a tribute to the young Canadian of many years ago, whose remarkable attempt to run across Canada from sea to sea on one leg has inspired generations to care and give to the cause of beating cancer.

Terry Fox was stopped in his tracks near Thunder Bay on Sept. 1, 1980, with the return of the disease, and he died on June 28, 1981.
