STAR, Idaho — Community members in Star are raising funds for the Helping Heroes fund to honor the people who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Entrance to the event is free. The festivities will occur on the town's Main Street between Riverwalk Park and Freedom Park. It runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Community members can buy customizable lanterns for $10. There will also be face painting and food trucks. Money from the lanterns and 10% of food truck revenue will go to a community fund meant to help first responders serve the community.
